Below are some possible issues that may be experienced if the time on your system is not changed:
Access Control Systems
- Doors opening early
- Doors closing early
- Access denial due to schedules for some employee groups
- Inaccurate event reports
CCTV Systems
- Inaccurate time stamps on video images of actual events. This could become a larger problem if the videos need to be submitted as evidence in court.
- Inaccurate recording times due to schedules being off of sync with clocks. Event data could potentially be lost.
To change the time on your windows computer, simply “right click” on the time display in the system tray, followed by clicking on "Adjust Date/Time".
If you are running an obsolete version of Windows, even if it has been kept updated with Microsoft patches, your system may automatically be defaulted to make time changes on the first Sunday in April and the last Sunday in October as in previous years. On these systems, you will need to manually adjust the time again in April, October and once again in November when Daylight Savings Time ends.
You will need to continually change the date FOUR times per year unless you upgrade your software to a currently supported version of the windows operating system software. Additional information on preparing for the Daylight Savings Time change can be found on this Microsoft Support link: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/dst_topissues#A5.
If you have an IS2000 Access Control System, an upgrade utility has been created to comply with the new DST (Daylight Savings Time) rules. We recommend upgrading your software to this latest version 7.61. This can be downloaded using the following link: http://imron.net/downloads/IS2000_Upgrade7_61.exe
To perform the upgrade, download the upgrade utility from the link and follow the instructions below.
- Close the IS2000 Server application and all associated IS2000 Clients before installing the upgrade.
- Once all IS2000 applications have been closed, launch the upgrade utility and follow the instructions. Perform the upgrade on the server first and then on any client computers.
- Once the upgrade has been completed, launch IS2000 from the IS2000 Server location first and then any Client locations afterwards.
The new version number will be displayed in the Title Bar of the application, located in the upper left hand corner.
