Bay Alarm fully supports National Night Out (NNO) and the law enforcement and safety agencies that work to protect neighborhoods and homes. We share the same mission of protecting our communities and creating safer and more caring places to live. The objective of instilling cooperation between law enforcement and the community by bridging the separation and fostering programs that allow this gap to be closed is paramount to creating safer neighborhoods.
What is National Night Out?
National Night Out, now in its 35th year, is an annual event that takes place in all 50 states with the purpose of building community and forging relationships and support between law enforcement and the neighborhoods and people they serve.
Another important goal of NNO is to create camaraderie with your neighbors. One of the best lines of defense is knowing your neighbors and what is unusual activity around you and on your block. Awareness and knowing if something is amiss and being able to report it is the first step in preventing crime.
NNO happens every year on the first Tuesday in August. The date this year is August 7, 2018.
How will you commemorate NNO?
Festivities can be block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, potlucks, ice cream socials, flashlight walks, safety fairs/demonstrations, or a chance to visit with police in your neighborhood. Bay Alarm will be participating in NNO in many of the communities we serve.
