There are many reasons why your alarm might have gone off by accident:

  • The wrong 4-digit code was entered
  • A door or window was opened during ARM state
  • A motion sensor was triggered by a pet, balloon, ceiling fan, dust, or other harmless movement
  • Your system or device batteries are low
  • A loose door or window is shifting from wind or vibration (this is most common in the fall and winter!)
  • Power outage or electrical fluctuation has affected your system
  • Your system is older and due for replacement

If none of these apply to you, don’t worry—false alarms can happen for a variety of harmless and completely understandable reasons. Please call us at 1-800-470-1000.
